Game-Verse Mobile Application
Beacon College | Spring 2024 | DIG 4500 Project Development
Project Overview: For the entire semester, we were tasked with creating a mobile app that incorporates the concepts of roles and responsibilities in a team-based project. This experience was designed to equip us with the skills to communicate effectively in a professional, fast-paced working environment. I collaborated with Cody Schick, also taking the class, to develop a mobile application called Game-Verse.
Game-Verse is a gaming subscription service that provides a unified platform for gamers. It enables users to access various games across multiple platforms, including consoles, PCs, and mobile devices, similar to Monopoly GO. The service addresses gamers' with familiar challenges when they need numerous consoles to enjoy their favorite titles. Through a subscription-based model, Game-Verse offers unlimited access to an extensive library of games worldwide, providing a cost-effective alternative for gamers typically investing in several gaming systems.
Throughout the development of Game-Verse, I gained a deeper understanding of current trends and user needs within the gaming industry, which helped shape the app's concept. I also learned the importance of user feedback in refining the app's design and functionality. Creating intuitive interfaces enhanced my skills in user experience design, and collaborating with Cody underscored the value of problem-solving and innovation.
To develop the project, Cody and I have used Adobe XD to design our user interfaces and create engaging user experiences. This tool allowed us to build interactive prototypes accurately representing the app's functionality and visual appeal.
The project was developed as our final assignment for the class. This addresses the needs of gamers seeking a comprehensive gaming solution. Our goal was to create a platform that resonates with the broader gaming community by offering them a more accessible and enjoyable gaming experience.
